Buttons? Ergonomics?
Still trying to figure out what this is for. Pepto bismol? Tums? Metamucil? Not big enough for sunglasses.
Cheapest part of the interior IMO. This hard shiny black plastic.

GM has some serious ergonomic issues to work out. All the bits and pieces are there, but they kinda suck. The touch screens are awful UI design too. Otherwise they are building things pretty well these days.
How do you like the rest of the car?

I do not understand the point of this car. Is it just for people who really like the idea of a rolling sofa but are so stuck up they want to avoid saying "I drive a Chevy"?
I bet most of these are corporate leases for EVP's at smallish companies. The kind of thing people would describe as "not as bad as I was expecting."

Ouuu! Finally someone else on here who's driven or had one. I had one for a week recently and I believe that the tray you're looking at is an ashtray.
Do you find it's fairly quick as well? I was pulling pretty darn close to my friend who had a stage 2 Passat (2006).

Why do people buy Lexus ESs? They're upscale Camry/Avalons afterall, but people do keep buying them. The same holds true for the Lacrosse.
They are generally nicer though. The new one even gets real wood, and soundproofing is pretty amazing.

Honestly the most comfortable car I've driven. Really really solid. Little GM quirks here and there.

They fixed this in the Regal, thankfully. I'm guessing the Lacrosse is just behind in updates.

Just a luxury car. People that don't care about rwd or how much r&d went into making it fractionally better than other luxury cars.
There's definitely a market for them. Lincolns, Lexus, Buicks. My dad's a retired banker if that helps putting this somewhere.

These sell in droves to mid-level real estate agents, bankers, lawyers, doctors etc. Nice enough that the client thinks you're good with money/good at your job but not so ostentatious that they feel they're being ripped off.
My brother is a financial analyst and father is a lawyer. Their firms are mostly Avalons, these guys, Azeras, and Cadenzas. My brother runs a TT-RS on his time but a Avalon to/from the office and my dad had an M5 for him, old F150 for towing, and a Buick something or other for the office (he recently switched to a high-trim Expedition for triple duty)

Yup! It's lack of torque is really disappointing though. I found myself flying around 100 mph and felt zero torque at any point in the power band. At one point I outran my friend's Passat but I thought we were around 50mph as it's all HP no torque.

Yeah it really needs to rev to do anything.
Almost an odd feeling at first. Quarter throttle has it shifting at 5k or something really high.

Can you turn the heated seats and the cooled seats on at the same time? You can in BMW's and it's weird. It's like sitting on a heated air hockey table.

It doesn't do anything. These are only ventilated.
On my Lincoln it turns into auto mode. Those are actually cooled though.

my girlfriend's car was in the shop an we borrowed her grandparents champagne 2003 acura 3.2cl. I drove it across the PA turnpike, and have never been cut off/ pulled out in front of, so many times in my life. it was terrifying. people thought i was an old-timer just poking around and literally didn't give a fuck about running me off the road.

Oh, hey. This is an AMA. I should ask questions because I adore this car.
1. What most surprised you about it?
2. What is one feature that you really like?
3. What's something you'd change?
4. How is the handling? These have magnetic suspension, right?
5. Space? Rear legroom? Trunk space?
6. Will It Hoon (tm)?
7. Does it make a good noise?
GeorgeyBoy

Extremely complicated to work anything. Terrible terrible visibility.
GeorgeyBoy

1. Ride. Being built like a bank vault.
2. Tie between heads up display and heated steering wheel.
3. Ergonomics, some plastics, visibility.
4. Ride firms up in sport mode, as does steering feel. It's a big heavy car, but it feels composed and controlled. Understeers heavily. Yes it has magnetic suspension.
5. Trunk, small. Gooseneck hinges contribute as does a pretty complex rear suspension. Rear leg room is great. Front interior space is pathetic, very little storage throughout.
6. Yes hoons, lots of torque steer.
7. Eh I guess. I will say it sounds tons better than Chrysler's 3.6.

Most Vauxhall/Opels have hidden compartments strewn about the place.
Not sure if yours will as it's a very different car to a friend's Vauxhall Astra, but does the LaCrosse also have a hidden compartment underneath the cupholder in the centre console?
GeorgeyBoy

Under the cupholder is a space for the key fob when the battery is low. Not sure what you call that.

Not sure if this one has a name but is good for keeping a security pass or door security fob for access to secure parking garages or secure sites safe and out of sight yet with the vehicle so not to losing it around the house.
